Goodbye 2008

Well here we are the end of another year. 2008 has certainly brought many ups and downs for us but hopefully the down times are now a thing of the past and we can all move on from them however they will always be in our minds and the pain caused by that will only get duller with time but will never go away completely. I think the best part of the year for all of us was having our Baby girl now 6 weeks old.

The family have had many trips together including going to Thomasland which was great fun. We have seen Kellyn change so much through the year from our little baby boy to a very intelligent lad who amazes all who know him.

I am looking forward to the new year now with our 2 wonderful Children and seeing what it will bring.

II have put together a family photo album our year in pictures http://s416.photobucket.com/albums/pp247/georginamchugh/Our%20Year%20In%20Pictures%202008/
This is the link to view.

Kellyn wanted to go to bed so he did so David Ceienna and i spent the evening together talking and reflecting over the past year. as well as dancing around the living room.

We saw the new year in with our little girl sleeping in our arms. what a fab way to start the year.

Albert Docks Liverpool

Today we headed out to Liverpool. We went to Visit Albert Docks.
After a minor mishaps first thing we final managed to leave. We had breakfast then hit the road heading up the Motorway. I sat in the back of the car with the children and me and Kellyn played a game of spotting. Once we reached the Birkenhead tunnel both the children became very excited about going through it.
Once we had parked the car we headed for the Docks. Our first visit was to the Maritime Museum, We where really interested in the Titanic exhibition and where amazed by the bits and pieces on display from the ship.
Next we went to the slavery museum this was interesting to i loved the native costumes on display and could not help but notice how grand they where.
After out walk around the museum we headed out onto the docks for a walk round, we the went to have a look around the TATE art gallery. I visited the gallery when i was studying art, It has changed since then but i still love the modern art especially the work but Picasso and Andy Warhol. After the TATE we walked up the front to take in the views of Birkenhead.
It was now getting late so we headed back to the car and went for tea before going home.

Drive Through the North Wales Countryside

Yesterday the family went for a drive through the North Wales countryside. We headed through Llangollen as we got into the hills we noticed the hills where white with frost, they looked like they had been sprinkled with icing sugar. it was also extremely cold good job we have a good heater in the car.
Our first stop was Betws-Y-Coed this is a lovely place to visit one of my favourites. Kellyn and Daddy got out for a walk while i stopped in the car to feed Ceienna. We then went to look at the water.
After our visit to Betws-Y-Coed we headed out to see the Ugly House Kellyn also went to play in the park near by.
We all got back in the car and headed back down the road, Our next stop was Bala, the waters edge was frozen, Kellyn had great fun breaking the ice under his feet and throwing stones into the lake. Next we headed over the top through the beautiful countryside to Lake Vyrnwy we stopped here a while to take in the views of the Lake before heading through the Valley.
We where both amazed how the area had changed since we lived in the Valley. It wasn't long until we reached home and settled down for an evening snuggled up together.

After dinner Nanny and Grandad played with Kellyn and Ceienna before we watched the afternoon film together, It wasn't long before Kellyn fell asleep next to Grandad. After the film Daddy was back in the Kitchen preparing a wonderful tea of prawn cocktail, Jacket potato with curry and a lovely Chocolate cake, Strawberries and Cream.

It was getting late so Nanny and Grandad headed home and the children went to bed. We had all had a lovely day together, but we were all very tired.

The children were angels.

In the afternoon i started to do some baking i made some mince pies, Chocolate Truffles, Quiche then Kellyn and i made some lovely biscuits, which where Daddys favourites.

After Kellyn went to bed the hard work began. Daddy made up Kellyns main Christmas present, then we put up the Christmas Tree and the decorations. Last of all we put all the presents under the tree.

Santa Special with Thomas - Telford

Today we visited Telford Steam Railway for the Thomas The Tank Santa Special.

When we arrived at Telford Railway Kellyn became very excited as there to great us with a big smiling face was Percy.

Kellyn could not wait to get out the car and see what was about. Next Daddy took Kellyn to see Thomas he was so pleased his little face beamed. While we where waiting for our train we looked around the station. There was a Play Train table, Kellyn loved it he was quite happy standing there playing. We looked at the tram waking up in its shed, and also went to see naughty Diesel.

10 o' Clock soon came, Time to board our train. The staff where great helping get the pushchair on the train. We took our seats and we where on our way to SANTA LAND, Kellyn spent the whole journey looking out the window pointing out the signals as we passed them. Thomas took us to visit his favourite tunnel first, When we arrived at Santa Land we headed to the cafe as there was free tea, Coffee and Mince pies before seeing Santa.

We also looked at the fabulous model Railways while we waited for our turn to go and see Father Christmas, Kellyn was so please with his present from Father Christmas he has played with it ever since.

After our visit to Santa Land we had a ride on the Tram and Kellyn played with the trains a bit more. We where starting to feel peckish so we sat and watched Thomas which was playing in the yard and had the picnic i had prepared for the family.

Kellyn & Ceienna where now starting to get tired so we so jumped in the car and drove to the site of the Ironbridge, the children where both sound asleep by now, So we decided to go for a drive through the Shropshire countryside.

On the way we also stopped at Wroxeter Roman City and had a look before continuing our journey home.

Santa Toy Run - Shrewsbury

Today started early for the family as we were doing the Toy Run in Shrewsbury this is an annual run in aid of the Children's Ward at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, participators bring presents for the Children. the event is organised by the Rainbringers Motorbike Club.It is a terrific thing to be involved in. We did the event last year with Rockin and enjoyed it so it was a pleasure to be involved in the event again.
We all got in the car and headed to the garage to collect Rockin, Kellyn was very excited as he was in the Co Drivers seat again.

First job once we got to Shrewsbury was to go for breakfast. after we had eaten and fuel Rockin Daddy and Kellyn headed to the square in town and Ceienna and i parked the car. We walked from Castle Fields into town and all we could hear echoing through the medieval streets of Shrewsbury is the roar of bikes. The Square was packed from front to back with bikes it was a magnificent sight.
After we all met up again under the old Market hall, we had a look around the bikes. There was everything there including Bandits, Harley Davidson's, Ninjas ( One of my Favorites ), Goldwings, Vesper's, and a collection of a few Vintage bikes.

Playing under the archways of the old Market was a absolultly fantastic band.

There was a few people in fancy dress , Including a fluffy Yellow Chick a teddy and scooby doo. Not forgetting this chap.
Ceienna enjoyed listening to the sounds of the engines and looking what was around her.

There where as ever lots of people having their photos took with Rockin so we decided to do the same.

12 o' Clock came it was time for the riders to get on their bike and take a drive through the town and deliver the presents. Crowds lined the roads from the Square they where all clapping and cheering a wonderful sight. as the band played the riders out.
Cant wait till next year.
