Ceienna's Christening

Today we Celebrated Ceienna's Christening. It was attended by the most of our family at the family church of Ford this is the same place that Kellyn was Christened not so long ago. Ceienna was wearing the Christening gown which is now well over 80 yrs old and has been used for other members of the family.

It was a lovely sunny day Daddy left the house early as he was doing the food for the party after. I was left to get Kellyn and Ceienna ready. Kellyn looked well in his suit which was brought specially for him. Last of all we dressed Ceienna before getting into the car and heading down to the church.

It was nice to see so many familiar faces in the church all welcoming and excited to meet the new addition to our family. At the church we met up with friends as well so my Brother Daniel, His wife Penny and their 2 Children Max and Zoe and we where also joined by my older Sister Karen and her Husband Ben.

Ceienna behaved wonderfully throughout the service she only cried when she had the water poured over her head cause she was a sleep and it was a sudden wake up call for a little girl.

After the service we headed to the village hall for the party, All the food was prepared by Daddy and the hall was decorated by Daddy and Grandad the night before they had done a perfect job.

Everyone had a wonderful time, all the guests got to hold our special girl, She made us all very proud.

On arrival at the hall Kellyn took it upon himself to serve the guests with a plate of food, Bless him, everyone was very touched. For the party we where also joined by the children's new puppy Muzzy, He was very excited to meet the family to and everyone loved him and he loved the attention.

After we where all refreshed, the Children went to play in the hall, while the adults stayed and chatted and caught up on the latest gossip. Before Daddy stood up and made a short but touching speech to the family and making a toast to our daughter with a glass of Champagne.

We all had a wonderful time and Ceienna had some lovely gifts too.

Park Hall Farm

It was a beautiful morning, The children and myself planned a day out at Park Hall, Daddy was not happy as he had to go to work so could not come with us.

After Daddy left for work i got both the children ready and then our picnic for the day.

It was soon time for us to jump in the car and off we went, making our short Journey down to Park Hall Farm. When we arrived Kellyn could not wait to get out of the car.

First we headed through the Victorian School, Kellyn was really interested in this so as we walked through i explained the different exhibits to him. We came out onto the farmyard were we looked first at the pig, then the donkey, finally making our way to the horses, Kellyn and Ceienna both love horses, Ceienna's face beamed with delight as she spotted them. We looked at the Shetland pony's first then moved on to the Shires.

Our first activity for the day was Pony Grooming Kellyn was really excited by this, He took the brush and began the task he did it brilliantly. When he had finished he wanted to look at the rabbits, so he did before we headed outside for the Tractor Ride, I had to have help to get the pushchair up onto the cart, Kellyn was really excited with the ride and enjoyed it very much. as we drove around we where shown the Iron Age house which is being built at the site, This will be very interesting when it is complete. After the ride, We went to view the car collection before Heading to Lamb feeding. Kellyn sat patiently on my knee waiting for his turn to feed the orphan lambs, as we waited i could not help but remember visiting my nan at this time of the year when i was a child, she had orphan lambs in her Kitchen in front of a warm open fire. After we fed and stroked the lambs, Ceienna was hungry so we headed to the tractor play den, Kellyn had a great time with the tractors. Once Ceinna had taken all she could the 3 of us went into the soft play area, We built a tractor in there with the soft toys, Kellyn did the Jigsaw on the wall and Ceienna rode on one of the soft toys. After we finished our lunch stop we went to watch the Milking demonstration, The first demonstration was Milking by hand something else that brought back a memory of my mum telling me how she did this year ago. Next was Milking by Machine Kellyn was fascinated by this demonstration. He got to look at cow nuts and hold the fresh milk, They told us how we could not drink the milk straight from the cow as it had to be treated, This mad me laugh as again visiting my nan we always had milk straight from the cow and very good it was to. Kellyn was getting tired now so i put him in the pushchair while we did the woodland and Nature walk and also visited the Duck Pond, When we got back to the car Kellyn was asleep for for a closed the door, He'd had such a good day.

Ellesmere and the Canal

After visiting Whittington Castle we went into Ellesmere Kellyn loves coming here and so do i as we both love browsing thought the second-Hand shops. We found some great bargains today and we each had something new. Next stop was the cake shop to get a carrot cake as Daddy would never forgive us going to Ellesmere and not getting him a cake, after placing the cake safely in the car we spent the remained of our time out walking along side the Shropshire Union Canal. Kellyn loves the different boats and wildlife that can be found here and we spent lots of time talking about different things. We had a lovely day together, enjoying the glorious Shropshire Spring. cant wait for next time.

He managed this really well, shouting at the top of his voice "I'm the king of the castle" lol i though he was so funny standing their full of confidence He has grown up so much since the first time i took him here.

We walked around for a while taking in the refreshing spring Shropshire air, Before heading back to the car for our next stop.

Our Brain Box

As anyone who knows Kellyn will know just what a brainy lad he is. He is now able to use a computer and complete activities on there. He is doing so well and becoming a real brain box. He is also learning other activities.

Kellyn not only has brains but an impeccable memory. He is able to work on a Car or Bike, but this ability is in his blood especially as i was Student of the Year For Motor Vehicle Service and Repair at College and coming from a line of mechanics. He is great at repairing toys too, as his Grandad will tell you. He is also into learning to cook, He will be a very Modern Man when he is older, least we know he has achieved all this on his own. He has wanted to learn and we have encouraged him. He has never had anything forced on him. He know his own mind and is growing into an outstanding, confident, little boy who his whole family are VERY proud of.

Valentines at Playgroup

After Daddy checked the road from the house was safe for us to leave, as we has a hard frost, so the road tends to turn into an ice rink. Kellyn, Ceienna and myself headed to Playgroup. The theme of the week was of course Valentines Day. Kellyn made a Valentines Collage, Bless him he amazed the leader by knowing his numbers so well to. He enjoys learning and is advanced in his education already. After he had finished his crafts he played with his trains like always. Ceienna found some bells to play with, She is working on her ability to hold on to things now and loves to play with anything which will make a noise. Snack time came around quick, Kellyn tucked into his fruit and crackers, by which time Ceienna had dozed off. Kellyn then wanted to play more with trains, Right up until song time when as a special treat the children had instruments to play with, Kellyn has a maraca and Ceienna who had now woke up joined in with some different bells. Both the children enjoy playgroup, it is a lovely group, very welcoming unlike some.
