Nesscliffe Country Park & Kynastons Cave

After dropping Kellyn off at school on Friday, I headed off to Nesscliffe Country Park for a Treat. I parked up and let two very excited dogs out of the car. The park has many foot paths all heading in different directions.
We took the path heading towards Kynastons Cave. It was very muddy due to amount of rainfall we have had recently but this added to the fun especially for the dog who were running round going crazy chasing each other and diving in and out of the puddles.

It only took us 10 minutes to reach the cave which is lodged in the giant Red sandstone cliffs. The cave is now home to bats but once it was the home of a highway man Humphrey Kynaston Shropshire's answer to Robin Hood. From here was easy to see why he would have chosen this spot as you can see for miles.

After having a good look round this area, The two dogs and myself headed to Olivers point high up on top of the Cliff, it was well worth the climb as the views were breathtaking, We were able to look right over the welsh hills and enjoy a great view of the Briddens. As we reached the point there was even a lovely rainbow in view. I sat here for a while before taking a walk right the way around the park stopping at various information board to read what they said and take in the views. It was soon time to head off and collect Kellyn from School . With both Dogs very Muddy i was very glad of having a Kangoo and the inside being plastic. What a wonderful place to go for a walk and clear your head.

Flood Dodging

While the heavens keeps throwing more and more rain down on us we are constantly dodging floods. Today we headed through the lanes to playgroup, A few times we stopped to take in the views of the floods. In one place the water was half way up a tree. I feel sorry for people who's homes and businesses are effected by floods. Still on a brighter note, We have seen many rainbows which were very pretty and provide a good excuse for Kellyn to practice his colours.

Autumn at the Mere

Today we picked Kellyn up from school and headed to one of our most favorite places, Ellesmere. Parking up at the mere side we looked around and took in the spectacular views of Autumn. it was beautiful. The wildlife were zipping around despite the terrible weather we have been having. I took lots of photographs here of the wildlife and the views which surrounded the mere. Next we headed to the Canal tow path meeting it at Ellesmere Bridge, The path was very muddy but it didn't stop us. The tunnel is long and dark but it did not scare us. We are Strong and it take allot to knock us down and keep us down. Unfortunately we had too cut our walk short as Ceienna had a doctors appointment, but we had a great time together all the same.

1st Birthday Celebrations For Ceienna

Ceienna's Birthday Started with Present opening she knew exactly what to do pulling back the paper and looking for her present beneath. One by one she tried out each new toy, Loving each and everyone. Kellyn wished Ceienna Happy birthday not only in English but also in Welsh, he was also able to sing to the tune.
After spending some time playing with her new toys, Opening cards and watching her new Dvd we headed out for Ceienna's Birthday outing.

The weather was terrible so it had to be indoors, In Shropshire there was limited places to go. Recently we had won a competition to go to Mickey Millers Play barn in Craven Arms, so this is where we headed. We made our way across Shropshire, This area is totally outstanding and has to be one of my most favorite places.
Once we arrived at the play barn, Kellyn and Ceienna were very excited. One thing that makes this place even better is adults are encouraged to play too, and we sure did that.
We paid our fee and were let in, The fun instantly began. There was so much to do, Ride on Toys Soft play area's for children of all ages, Normal toys, Dolls, trains, Playhouses. Ceienna headed for the toddler soft play area while Kellyn dragged Daddy into the older children's section. Ceienna climbed up to the ball pit where she stayed for a while.

Next we all took a turn on the 20 metre slide. It was so funny we laughed at each other till it hurt.

The morning slipped away so we had our dinner at the barn. The staff here were so kind and welcoming they even did Ceienna a mini birthday cake. Once again we all sang happy birthday to our special girl.
After dinner we played more, Kellyn and i took part in the various obstacle courses around, while Daddy and Ceienna continued on the slide.
All too soon it was time to go, leaving with two very tired and worn out children.
Later on at home we gave Ceienna more of her presents and her special Pony cake and a little In the Night Garden themed birthday tea.

What a wonderful day we had Celebrating our Baby Girls birthday.

Happy 1st Birthday Ceienna

Our Beautiful little girl turned 1 on the 18th November. Its hard to believe , The year has gone so Quickly

Techniquest

On Wednesday this week Kellyn Ceienna and i headed up to Wrexham for an educational trip. We headed to Tecniquest. Kellyn had statrted to take a keen interest in Science so this is a great place to soo Science in action.
We arrived in time for opening time, Kellyn was very excited. There was no one else around so we were accompanied by our own guide who took a keen interest in Kellyn and all he had to say and answered all his questions as well as setting him tasks as we make our way through the zones
.

Kellyn enjoyed learning about Electricity, DNA and chomertones. He amazed me with his understanding of some thing which i would this was quite complicated for a 3 year old. Ceienna was let our of her pushchair and was exploring too. She liked the Mirror Wall and the Ball which sat in mid air. We had a great time and where sorry to leave.

An Early Start

This Morning we all had an early start having to be out of the house before 7:30 which left us a little time before Kellyn had to go to School, So we headed to the Montgomery Canal at Llanymynech for a stroll. Kellyn and i had a great walk taking in the fresh air and talking about the nature around us.
Kellyn enjoys walking and has started to ask to go for walks regularly, which is very encouraging.

RAF Cosford-

As this Sunday was Remembrance Sunday we headed to RAF Cosford in Telford. We had planned to come here after Kellyn recently watching James May building an Airfix model with local school children on BBC 2, He was then and has remained interested in War Plains especially Spitfires . We wandered around the hangers Kellyn was full of questions about the plains and most of all the engines and Mechanics of the plains and Helicopters

Kellyn and Ceienna had a great time learning about how plains fly, in the hands on part of the exhibition.

This is the airfix plain on a 1/1 scale designed by James May.

As we walked around we saw a helicopter which had served in Afghanistan, this brought home the war that is still going on today making it real and more than just something you see on the TV. We watched footage of World War 2, again sparking questions from Kellyn. We both believe it is important to teach children the history which has shaped our country and also about event which surround this special day. Also we walked around Kellyn got to talk with ex service men which were also visiting the museum, which was lovely or Kellyn to meet them. Another Event in the news which we spoke about with Kellyn was the fall of the Berlin Wall, a piece of the wall is on display in the museum and Kellyn had remembered hearing about the wall on Radio Shropshire, again something which amazed us both.

Rodney's Pillar Walk

After Dropping Kellyn off at School Ceienna, Muzzy and myself headed to Rodney's Pillar for a walk. Ceienna was in her pushchair and was laughing and singing all the time we were out. Muzzy loved the run too. I spent ages watching the birds flying high above us.

The last time i did this walk i went right to the top of the pillar, We were not able to do this today due to the weather, but we still had a great time. Ceienna loves taking Muzzy out and is a promising animal handler.
